Yoichi Murata

Born 1963 in Shizuoka City, trombonist, composer, arranger and seasoned band leader Yoichi Murata

has played and recorded with international jazz stars, such as David Sanborn, Marcus Miller, Bob

Mintzer, Fred Wesley, Randy Brecker and the late great Michael Brecker. His total immersion in jazz

since college days ensured he is no stranger to global events such as the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Back home in Japan, he was arranger and musical director of the legendary Watanabe Sadao Big

Band from 1996-1999, as well as producing numerous commissioned works in the classical world.
