Bandoneonist, composer and arranger Rodolfo Mederos has performed with artists as renowned as Astor Piazzolla, Osvaldo Pugliese, Daniel Barenboim, Enrique Morente, Larry Coryell, Joan Manuel Serrat, Mercedes Sosa, Miguel Poveda, Orquesta Sinfónica Cuidad de Oviedo, Orquesta Sinfónica de Hamburgo, Orquesta Sinfónica Brasileira and Orquesta Nacional de España, among others.
With his forceful personality, his deep-felt musicality and a style full of popular flavour and emotion, Mederos has had a profound effect on the world of tango.
As a composer, Mederos covers the gamut from popular to symphonic pieces for different instrumental groups. He has also carved out a successful career as a teacher and writer about bandoneon-related matters and tango composition and orchestration.
In recent years, he has returned to his roots, to the tango of his childhood, but the imprint of his style is inescapable: refined arrangements and interpretations of deep emotion.
RODOLFO MEDEROS TRÍO
The Rodolfo Mederos Trio celebrates the tango intimately via an eclectic repertoire combining classic and modern tango pieces. Comprising a bandoneon, a guitar and a double bass, the ensemble performs tango in a unique and unexpected way. The Trio also plays waltzes, milongas and other forms of popular music.
