PJFB( Pentatonic Jazz Fusion Band)
The Pentatonic Jazz Fusion Band (P.J.F.B.) came together in 2013. Since 2014 they have performed in EdUHK Muse series concert, Hong Kong Fringe Club, Hong Kong Jazz International Jazz Festival, Shenzhen Fringe Festival, Music Fairground and Hong Kong City University Multi-cultural Centre concert. In January 2017 they have been invited to perform in Jazz Education Network conference, which held in New Orleans, USA with featuring students from EdUHK.
P.J.F.B. introduces a new form of fusion, incorporating Chinese and Western musical instruments, Chinese folk elements, with contemporary jazz harmony, funk rhythm and free jazz improvisation. Based in Hong Kong, the fusion of Chinese and Western sextet has constantly found the boundaries to cross, combining genres and different cultures while exploring the unknown.
