Synopsis

FUSION FIVE is a new exciting project by Hong Kong drummer, band leader and Soultone Cymbals Artist Lloyd Yamid.  He released his debut CD, An Inspiration in 2017, and now introduces an international lineup of premier Hong Kong-based musicians with a wealth of experience across multiple genres, performing original and innovative jazz fusion with a hint of Latin, rock and smooth jazz.

Joining Lloyd his latest venture is US jazz pianist, composer and arranger Bob Mocarsky, previously a mainstay in the San Francisco and New York scenes.  Bob has written hundreds of compositions and recorded dozens, while leading many jazz ensembles of his own.

Versatile Canadian bassist Sylvain Gagnon is active in the studio and onstage, recording on hundreds of CDs and touring with local and international artists, including a world tour with Jacky Cheung.  Equally at home on double or electric bass, Sylvain is in demand across Asia with a variety of groups, ranging from orchestras to jazz ensembles, and has performed with, amongst others, Bob Mintzer, Scott Hamilton, Laura Fyji, Eric Marienthal and James Morrison.

British Saxophonist/producer Jon Rebbeck is active in both jazz and classical formats.  He has appeared on the international stage with a diverse range of musicians, including Michael Nyman, Phillip Glass, Bob Mintzer, Phil Wilson, Jim Snidero, Eric Marienthal and the legendary Louis “Moondog” Hardin.

Hong Kong-born Teriver Cheung is an internationally touring guitarist and composer.  His early exposure to classical music has contributed to his style of composing and playing.  Musicians he has collaborated with include Latin Grammy Award-winner Eddie Gómez, Billy Drummond, Jean-Michel Pilc, George Garzone and Antonio Hart.  He also tours constantly with his own group, having appeared at some of the major music festivals, including the Jazz World Festival (Hong Kong), the Jazz W Ruinach Festival (Poland) and the Taichung Jazz Festival (Taiwan).
