Synopsis

Liu will discuss her experience writing for the X-Men and Black Widow, as well as her career as a urban fantasy writer.

Comic books are evergreen but the past decade has witnessed a surge in their visibility, including a stampede to transfer their astonishing stories to the big screen. Novelist and comic book writer Marjorie Liu’s work on Amazing X-Men has brought this classic series up to date, and under her guidance the X-Men have fought prejudice as often as they have battled Magneto.

Love comics? Don’t miss the companion talk by Sonny Liew, “Illustrating Iron Man,” on Wednesday 5 November.
