《Piacere Winds’ Adventures in Wonderland》【Fringe Festival 26】

Join the woodwind wizards of Piacere Winds on a spellbinding musical journey through story and sound!

 

Flutist Raymond Yuen, oboist Rachel Wong, clarinettist Theresa Lam, hornist Wilson Chau and bassoonist Wyee Lee welcome you into the adventure with Rebecca Oswald's Aesop's Fables,introducing whimsical animal friends along the path to Wonderland. The heart of our Wonderland features Danish composer Carl Nielsen's beloved Wind Quintet, Op. 43. 

 

Inspired by nature itself, this masterpiece was uniquely tailored by Nielsen to the personalities of itsoriginal players, radiating warmth and camaraderie – embodying Piacere Winds' spirit. Our tale concludes with Yasunori Kanazawa's musical fairytale, Three Ducks Went Wandering, promising a delightfully humorous finale. 

 

Between these enchanting stories, discover gems by masters Danzi, Debussy, and Ibert, showcasing the dazzling versatility and colours of the woodwind quintet across diverse styles.
