July Fringe Jazz: Nelson Fung & The Water

Hong Kong double bassist Nelson Fung is leading the modern jazz ensemble "The Water" onto the Fringe Club stage in July! 

Expect the unexpected! This uniquely eccentric lineup features an audacious pairing of TWO drummers and TWO double bassists, fused with Eurorack modular synthesizers and heavily-effected guitar, violin, and saxophone. Their songs are inspired by Liberation Music Orchestra, Jakob Bro Large Ensemble, Paul Motion and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, blending post-rock elements into free improvisation and redefining the diverse boundaries of modern jazz.
